Product Care

PRODUCT CARE:

Botanical Silk Products:

Our botanical silk is a handmade textile that has been dyed from natural Australian botanics. It is completely free from any chemicals and extremely fragile and delicate in nature. Botanical silk is living colour and will naturally evolve over time. This is a normal characteristic and unique quality of the botanical dyeing process and should not be considered a fault. Love and care should always be taken when wearing and storing your botanical silk product.

Botanically Dyed Silk Hair accessories:

Scrunchies, Ribbons, Headbands and Scarves:

Unless you have a stain on your botanical silk hair accessory, laundering is not necessary and we recommend to air your product instead. Please remember that your silk scrunchies will 'scrunch' and all of our products are design to be functional, loved and worn. Your silk product will naturally absorb the oils in your hair, along with any chemical hair dyes over time. Please note, if you have coloured hair, your silk product will naturally absorb the hair dye chemicals and this will cause the silk product to stain and become discoloured.

If you should need to launder your silk hair accessory, please follow these steps to ensure the longevity of your product is maintained:

  • Delicate spot clean with cold water
  • Please DO NOT wear any beauty products, perfumes, antiperspirants or deodorants containing the chemical Aluminium when wearing your botanical silk product. This will result in an unpredictable colour change in your silk garment. Aluminium is a chemical known for staining silk yellow during perspiration, causing stubborn fabric discolouration. Aluminium should never be worn when wearing your botanical silk garments. We recommend wearing a natural deodorant and allowing it to dry completely on your skin before wearing your silk garment. Never spray perfumes directly onto your delicate botanical silk.
  • Do not wear or immerse your silk hair accessory in any water as this will damage your silk product
  • Do not dry clean
  • Dry flat in the shade after delicate spot clean
  • Cool iron or steam if necessary to restore the silk to its original beauty

Jewellery:

All of our Eloïse Panetta products are fragile and delicate in nature.  You should always wear your item with absolute love and care.

925 Sterling silver

Sterling silver is naturally prone to tarnishing. Please don't consider this a fault. With some love and care, you can gently polish your silver piece and restore its beauty.

Please follow these simple steps to ensure your piece is well loved and cared for:

  • Please protect your piece from beauty sprays such as: perfumes, moisturisers, body spray, hairspray

  • Avoid touching your piece with oily/dirty fingertips

  • Please remove your piece before showering, swimming, exercising and washing your hands. Exposing silver jewellery to water or respiration will quickly tarnish the surface.

  • Polish your piece gently and carefully when it needs it. Use a sterling silver polishing cloth or gently polish the surface with a soft bristle tooth brush.

  • Store your piece in its protective linen pouch

9ct Yellow Gold

Please follow these simple steps to ensure your piece is well loved and cared for:

  • Please protect your piece from beauty sprays such as: perfumes, moisturisers, body spray, hairspray

  • Avoid touching your piece with oily/dirty fingertips

  • Please remove your piece before showering, swimming, exercising and washing your hands

  • Polish your piece gently and carefully when it needs it. Use a gold polishing cloth or gently polish the surface with a soft bristle tooth brush or soft dry cloth.

18ct Gold plating

All of our gold plated pieces have been 18ct gold plated over 925 sterling silver. This is to ensure the highest material quality is achieved. Gold plating is naturally prone to tarnishing and wearing off over time. Please don't consider this a fault. Please avoid using any beauty products when wearing your gold plated jewellery. Some beauty products may have a negative reaction with gold plated jewellery which will result in changes to the colour or texture of your piece over time. Always ensure your beauty products are completely dry and removed from your hands before you wear or touch your plated piece.

Exposing plated jewellery to water or perspiration will cause the thin layer of gold to disintegrate and wear off.

  • Always clean you piece after wearing it with a soft cotton ball or jewellery cloth

  • Store your piece in its protective linen pouch

Pearls

Stones such as pearls should be cleaned using an untreated, dry, soft cloth only. Avoid exposing your pearl jewellery to extreme heat or cold as this may cause the stone to contract or expand and can loosen the setting or crack. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean gemstones as they can cause scratching to the surface of the stone.
